An MIT electrical engineering student was arrested and almost gunned down at the airport in Boston. Why? Because the t-shirt she was wearing had a circuit board on the chest. Cops openly admit that she came within a hair's bredth of being blown away. There really is no limit to the paranoid delusions of the Amerikan people, is there?
According to the head oinker, the incident "is a reminder of the terrorism threat confronting the civil aviation system." Because, you know, terrorists always glue circuit boards to their shirts and then wander around the lobby of airports. I think the worst part of this is that her school, MIT, has bent over and grabbed its ankles for the piggies. They're scrambling all over themselves to show that they're Good Germans. According to a statement from MIT, "As reported to us by authorities, Ms. Simpson's actions were reckless and understandably created alarm at the airport."
Of course, if she was Arab or black, there'd be no question of charges; they'd already be digging five pounds of lead out of her at the morgue.

Eeek! After a meteor strike in Peru, those visiting the site -- a noxious hole full of a bubbling, seething stew of rotting organic matter -- report falling ill. Soon they will die, only to rise up again as shambling undead hungry for the brains of the living!

A panhandler killed someone in Toronto recently, and there were literally hundreds of newspaper articles about it, with lots of chest-thumping by politicians, police, and the media about "doing something" about the evil that is asking for help on the street. Yesterday, two men doused a homeless woman in gasoline or lighter fluid and set her on fire. There are a small handful of short articles about it in some of the more vaguely left-leaning papers like the Toronto Star -- and the only comment the police have is, "It's part of the transient lifestyle. Unfortunately that's the city we live in."
Translation: "Oh well, another no-good worthless bum set on fire. Ho hum. Pass the donuts."
Things are getting very ugly very quickly.

Amerikan airports will now sport "Behaviour Detection Officers" whose job it is to decide who the terrorists are based on their facial expression. Frown or grimace and you could find yourself on your way to Camp X-ray as an "enemy combatant." No, this is not a joke. Has anyone told the Amerikans that 1984 is not an instruction manual?

Kyla Ebberts was thrown off a Southwest Airlines flight in San Diego for wearing "inappropriate" attire (picture at right). She was told, "This is a family airline. You're too provocative to fly on this plane." Damned if I know why the Amerikans and the Taliban are shooting at each other, because as near as I can tell they have exactly the same beliefs.

Hospitals in Edmonton are reporting the worst blood shortage in a decade as a result of declining blood donations. Doctors speculate in this article that it's a result of growing selfishness in the Kanadian people. We see here yet another piece of evidence showing the rapid Amerikanization of Kanada, no doubt due to saturation by the Amerikan media.
There is nowhere to run, folks. I hear comrades here in Kanada telling me they're planning to flee to Europe. I hear Amerikan leftists saying they want to flee to Kanada. We have become so accustomed to losing that people no longer even dream about winning. Our backs are to the wall, people, and if you don't start fighting the growing world fascism, the ever-increasing greed and short-sighted selfishness, struggle will become far more brutal and bloody than it is right now.
The fight starts in your own backyard -- right here, right now.

As regular readers of this blog are aware, I am a Wobbly organizer, currently organizing the Ottawa Panhandlers' Union. I haven't been posting much to this blog lately because there's a real struggle on the streets these days; we've had to institute a Cop Watch program just to keep the police from openly breaking the law. To give you some idea of the sort of hatred and hostility we're encountering, here's a picture of a poster which has been appearing around Ottawa. Yes, that's me with a gun in my mouth. And that's our mayor in the background, grinning.

Two members of a running club in New Haven, Connecticut, have been charged with felonies for drawing chalk arrows and sprinkling flour in an IKEA parking lot as part of the track for a racing club. A lunatic who represents the mayor's office in New Haven says, "You see powder connected by arrows and chalk, you never know. It could be a terrorist, it could be something more serious."
Because, you know, terrorists always draw chalk arrows pointing at what they're doing.
